Confusingly, the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will still be named Aveo in the rest of the world. Personally, I think it is a mistake to use a different name in different markets. GM is establishing Chevrolet globally as strong brand for small cars so it would seem to make sense to use the same name worldwide.
